    Hi everyone!

    I´m LuigiStar, and I have a problem:

I have a GB flashcart, EMS Smart Card 64M. When I burn one ROM (Pokémon Yellow), and insert the cartridge in the N64 Transfer Pak, the game doesn´t start up!

Here´s the video that I show the problem:

"There´s a problem with GB connector..."

I have only one game on the flashcart, and I´m using the original EMS software (I don´t know if Mottzilla´s program works too).

    Greetings!

I've used this exact flashcart for Pokémon Crystal and it has this same issue often in Pokémon Stadium 2. When it works, the game would load but take forever to do it. Once it loaded, it worked fine. Of course the flashcart eventually corrupted my save file by disabling the Real Time Clock and changing the gender of my character....

    Can you send me pictures?

Also, how do you solve the problem?

    Greetings.

I can get some pictures for you later this evening.

The problem seems random for me. Sometimes it worked, other times it didn't. Usually removing the cart and reinserting it repeatedly helps.

I wonder if the Everdrive for GB/GBC does this too.

I have a similar problem with my GB64M (but in a GBC, not a Transfer Pak, fwiw). It rarely works unless I pull it back out of the slot ever so slightly.

A video also could help me.

    Anyway, thank you.

How minutes it takes you load time when it works?

Do you have a black screen while the game is loading?

    Greetings.

    PD: Please answer. XD.

Ok so I recorded a video using my EMS cart and an actual Pokemon Yellow cart on my N64 with Pokemon Stadium 2. I got the same issue you are having with both the real cartridge and the flash cart.

The video was recorded on an iPhone 6 at 1080p 60FPS. For the best viewing experience, use a browser that supports 720p or 1080p 60FPS YouTube videos:

The controller cable doesn't like being filmed and gave me a hard time

As you can see, I had to unplug the carts and reinsert them along with the Transfer Pak. My Transfer Pak was sitting in an area where it can gather a lot of dust so I'm guessing it's just dirty. I recommend you try cleaning the connector in your Transfer Pak with compressed air or a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol on it if possible.

Once I was able to get Pokemon Crystal on the EMS cart loading, it took about 1 minute and 10 seconds to load in Game Boy Tower (the emulator). I am not sure if this is normal for Crystal version or if this is another issue with the EMS cart.

I also had issues saving the game on the EMS cart. As I've mentioned before, the cart messed with my save a while back. It changed my player's gender and stopped the Real Time Clock. The save issue does not happen when I played it on a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance SP.

Hopefully my tests help you out.

Transfer Pak contacts are not dirty, since in Mario Golf and other games recognized the GB game.

I´ll try that you did in the video.

Thank you for all support that you give me, in my case, when I insert my flashcart, Pokémon Stadium doesn´t boot ANYTIME.

    Thank you for everything, seriously.

    Greetings.

That is strange then. Does the flashcart work on a Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or Game Boy Advance system?

You're quite welcome! Always glad to be able to help, even if it doesn't solve the problem. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can take a look at this and see what is causing the cart not to work.

One more thing you could try is burning the ROM as a Game Boy Color game instead of a Game Boy game if you are not doing that already.

I make work the game in Pokémon Stadium 1 ONE TIME of 707 tries.

Lol. I guess that someone can make power cycles patches.

    Greetings.
