Emulators - Are most multi-threaded?

    Hey Everyone,

    Are most emulators multi-threaded? Or does it generally depend on emulation type (Ie. 2D vs 3D Emulation), etc?

    I'm not sure I understand if you're talking about if emulators take advantage of multi-threading and multi-core processing, in that case most of them still don't do it.

    Using multiple threads in stuff like this means lots of code having to be rewritten, and in many cases (mostly in old consoles, before 5th console generation) it doesn't worth the effort since these emulators' requirements are way too low.

    Anyway there're some emulators that use multiple threads, like PCSX2, Dolphin (this one takes advantage of 64-bit processors too) and some Saturn emulators. I think newest MAME versions do it too but I'm not sure.
