You all already probably heart of the limited edition of Enemy Zero that cost a couple thousand dollars, was limited to 20 pieces and was HAND - DELIVERED by Kenji Eno. But..what was actually in the box? This: Http://www.segacollection.com/nonsite/e0.jpg *A replica of the gun *The E0 soundtrack record *An Enemy Zero cap *A bag *Gloves (Laura's?) *A clay/wax model(?) *A poster And more importantly for some people; *A Saturn CD-R with early code? *A signed floppy with...? It's a pretty damn cool set and shows how much passion Eno has for his games.
Thanks!! I didn't knew the goods of this amazing Limited Edition, and never saw any copy to sell! Do Someone has an idea of an estimated price today? Segafreak_NL, when you say "that cost a couple thousand dollars", you mean the "release price"? Here's another pic, from Adol (I guess, don't remember exactly...)
I like to think of myself as something of a fanatic when it comes to Sega (and the Saturn in particular), but this is news to me - Enemy Zero limited edition boxes with prototype content, hand delivered by Kenji Eno himself? Also, does anybody still have those curry packages that Warp gave out as a promotional item during this same period? They've all probably gone way off by now, though I'm certain there will be collectors out there still interested in owning such bizarre goods, if only for the box and not the actual food...
Hehe yes Warp Curry..I don't own them but I saw an actual ad somewhere in a Japanese magazine. As for the set price, it was mentioned in Mean Machines and they quoted a price, I should it look it up..
Although only three of its games were released over here (we never got Real Sound), the UK official Sega Saturn Magazine built up something of a cult following around Warp and Kenji Eno, even printing many images from the announcement party for D2 when they later started covering the Dreamcast prior to its launch. Whether a direct result of the promotional item being released just a few weeks before SSM finally closed up shop or not, it should be noted that one of Japanese correspondent Warren Harrod's last articles was a short review of the Warp Curry. Was he a victim of food poisoning, or could this all just have been some massive co-incidence?
The box set cost 200'000 yen. That's roughly about 1000 pounds. Way over priced for what you get including the early data disc (If playable then it's more interesting I guess) Yakumo
Alot of the cost come from probably kenji eno personally delivering it. I mean how many famous developers personal or movie stars/directors would come to someones house and personaly deliver it.
If I'm not mistaking Kenji Eno is now working for Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, for Ico, Shadow of the Colossusus etc. I spoke to him last year, he also worked on panzer dragoon. It's an good bloke. So I can understand that he hand deliverd those boxes (probally for the press, you don';t even want to know how many press only limited editions are out there)
I was searching for info about this limited box and came across this old thread so I decided to dig it up;-) Does anyone actually know someone that owns the box? Is the tag number of the game in this box different from the regular release?
I think that he works here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_Yellow_trange I really envy those who got those sets, that replica gun would look good on my shelf.
