In the market for an EPROM/EEPROM/PIC programmer. Looking to program a 16F630 PIC, 27C4096 EPROM amongst others. I've been eyeballing this model:

And have heard good things about it. Seems as if a 100% USB solution isn't available for a hobbyist budget. Anyone have any experience with this topic care to give a total newblet some advice on programmers? I don't even know how stable my desktop's parallel port setup is, last I checked the newer chipsets like this one sucked for anything beyond taking up space.

I've got a JDM programmer which is serial, it's not all that bad. A mbhp_2 burner or something, was from an open source midi project used to program PIC 18F4520's and my favourite is the Ad-Teknik Elvis Multiprogrammer 3.5 which can program chips, EEPROMS, smartcards and everything!

I was looking at a willems programmer ages ago, from what I see on that link, that's a fake/clone as they're quite expensive normally.
