No matter what GFX plug-in I choose, games stutter... Tried an I72600K+ GTX570 and a 1090T with a Geforce 8400 GS. Both stutter, especially in Ridge Racer Hi-Spec demo. I remember playing PSX games without problems in 2004/5. Could it be that these emulators dont work nicely on multi-core Cpus? Is there anyone with similar problems?
Assembled a P4 system just to check if it might have something to do with ineffiecient core parking of multi-core Cpus. It didnt improve at all. Still strange, as I remember PS emus running so smoothly, nearly as easy as SNES emulation. Seems that it cant be helped for now. By the way, is there a way to play NTSC games in color on a PAL PSX without using an RGB-Cable? PAL is just garbage fps-wise but these RGB-cables go for more than a PSX is worth on its own.....
They work fine on multi-core CPUs. It is either your configuration of ePSXe or your Windows install. ePSXe runs just fine on this i7 laptop and runs just as well on my older Core2Duo class system.
3rd Party RGB leads shouldn't be too expensive, a quick check of suggests around £5 shipped. Back in the day I seem to remember adverts for mod-chips which claimed to change NTSC->PAL but never investigated how or even whether they work. You can also get hardware convertors to change Composhite or RF NTSC->PAL but in my experience it was better in black and white with no sound!
PSP with CFW> probably some of the easiest , and best PSX emulation. On PC use EPSXE. Don't overdo the settings, use Pete'sOGL2 driver. And then there is always stuff like PSX emulation on the OG xbox as well which isn't too bad
