    0110 I believe it should be read as 4114 though.
    4= 00
    1= 01
    1= 01
    4= 00
    Therefore it's 00010100 in binary which means 20 in decimal

    E20 is your error code which I believe be RAM addressing error.

    Remember that the GPU is also the north bridge so the system cannot boot without the video RAM as it also happen to be the CPU RAM.

    So no video with this fault.

    Reflow the solder around the RAM.

    No. A hair dryer isn't going to get near hot enough. ;)

    If you don't know what you're doing, I'd suggest a lot of googling and watching of videos. If you aren't 100% sure, go to a shop that does it as you can easily ruin a board if you do it wrong.

    If it is properly done it is a permanent fix.

    Improperly done and it'll permanently screw your board beyond all hope.

    So either way, it's permanent! :)

    You need flux and a hot air rework, or a very steady hand and a solder iron.

    Also, if you manage to get it booting again, you might want to fix the thermal profile settings so it defaults to 60 degrees Celsius instead of a target temperature of 80 degrees celsius. That will make the unit last much, much longer.

    But it might get you banned from XBOX live as would would need to tamper with the console flash for that to work.

    Heat gun works fairly well,
    or as one of our members here did you could put it in an oven (no seriously he did and it worked)

    Get as 12V power brick, two pc fans, chop two holes in the side and push a fuckton of air into the unit. Problem solved. What I did.

    Without proper support all his cpu caps are gonna fall off the bottom.

    Heat gun works, it's $9 at harbor freight. Just make sure you're not blowing on it so hard it flies off or moves around. You want heat, not movement.

    Modifying the target temperature is a better solution as the GPU will be kept at constant temperature. I do not care for the noise so I set up my JTAG for 60 degrees Celsius. It stays mostly quiet while at the dash, but once you pop a game with a heavier cpu load the fans speed up.

    The advantage of keeping the temperature constant is that thermal stress is reduced to the minimum.

    That's the point of having "smart" temperature monitoring on such systems.

    Too bad that some engineers think it's for making the system quieter and then set up RIDICULOUS target temperatures such as 80 degrees Celsius (Yes, MS I am talking about you guys.), which is the maximum rating for the chips they use. :lol:

    I cool my system like that so
    I can leave the fans on another 5 minutes
    after power off to prevent board warping.

    Ugh, older 360 fixes. Recommend reflow solder, Replace thermal paste, upgrade heatsyncs, remove a xclamp, and 12v fan mod. Only then can I see a potential perma fix.
