I purchased a Rev 2.0 Everdrive MD in a group buy here in 2010. Since then I never had the opportunity to test it, but wanted to support the effort and knew I would eventually use it. I have recently set up my Genesis and found that I can't seem to load anything at all from the SD card. When I try I simply get "init mmc ... ERROR: fat init failed! 3". I have tried this on a US Genesis Model 1 (High Definition) and a Sega Genesis Nomad. I have also tried using 8MB, 256MB, and 1GB SD cards as well as a 64MB MMC card (all name brand). With each I have tried formatting with the toolbox option, which works fine, but when I load the os image or os-update module I still just get that error.

    Rev 2.0
    Firmware version 5
    OS version 6

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do to resolve this, or what causes this error?

    Thank you

probably your PC changes something in fat, but i don't know why. may be pc reformat sd automatically or perform scandisk, but windows machine should not do something like that automaticaly

Hrm. I will try using a different machine to write to the card after formatting it with the everdrive. Thank you, that is one possibility I hadn't considered.

Excellent! It must have been the laptop I was using before. I copied the files from a different machine and was able to update.

I installed the module update-os-mod.bin, then from there os-v33.bin. Now I've encountered a new problem though. After the update the very same card, without even having removed it from the system, gives the error 'sel error: 62' when I try to select a game.

Sorry to bump, but anyone have ideas on the 'sel error: 62' that I keep getting?

I am unable to do so. With OSv22 I get 'update error: 142" . I am also getting 'sel error: 120' now when trying to load a game, at times (I can't determine what set of factors cause that).

Ok, if it's a matter of updating the firmware as well, I will try that first. If I still have problems, I will contact you. Thank you very much for your help KRIKzz.
