I've had a couple different modded systems and have always enjoyed being able to exit mid-game back to the menu so I can play a different game. Is there any command or way that I can escape the game without having to manually restart the console? EDIT: Maybe I've not been clear. I modded an xbox years ago and was able to play old games on it. While in the middle of a game, I could press a certain button or combination of buttons and it would pause the game and allow me to go to the game list and pick another game to play. I didn't have to press reset on the actual console. I was wondering (hoping) that there was some sort of option like that with the ED64. Thanks.
Good question! I've only dealt with the Mega EverDrive and EverDrive MD. One of them (maybe both?) pressing down and start should give a menu. No idea if anything like that was implemented on the EverDrive 64 though. Give it a shot, what's there to lose?
Unfortunately, that didn't work. I tried a bunch of button combinations but none worked. Thanks for the reply, though!
Ahhh, someone more knowledgable will be along shortly Honestly the only N64 I have even nearly came into contact with lately is a friend who lives an hour away and he lost the PSU... :\ Such is life! Good hunting!
No, there is no "in Game reset" (IGR) feature included with the ED64. Btw. OS 2.0 is released for EverDrive64 v2 today. ^^
I don't know of any IGR function for the N64 or Everdrive 64, either. The N64 does support one in-game push-button sequence, which is that pressing Left Shoulder Button + Right Shoulder Button + START sets the analogue stick's current position to 0,0 as far as the N64 is concerned. It should be possible, now that OS v2.00 is out supports Gameshark codes, to create a cheat code that simply scans for a preset push-button configuration (say Left Shoulder Button + Right Shoulder Button + A + B) and then performs a total system reset, though it might require different code settings for different games. I'd advice you to post the code request on the official Everdrive 64 forum at http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?board=4.0 and see if someone with N64 coding knowledge can create such a code.
