I just popped my cherry in the expensive hobby of "PCBs on release day". Anyways, I took some pictures of everything except the damn board. Anyways: You can download a video of the first stage, and of the new scoring system at Hameko. It's video number #3322. You can see another video at #3336. Here's the goodies it came with, including the kick-ass, almost 6 foot tall poster below.
Buying PCB's on release day... ouch, that has to hurt the ol' wallet. Very cool set you got there though, the first Espgaluda was a fantastic game, and that poster is awesome.
Yeah, but the people I bought it from folded it up and put it in the box. The SH3 board (the board that this, Ibara, and Mushihime-sama are on) is teeny-tiny. The damn thing takes a while to boot though. I'll put pictures of it up later. Anyways, watch the video... the game rocks. I'm very happy with my purchase, even though I could've bought a crappy car with it.
Its a shame they folded up the poster, I hate when the do that, but from my experience it is generally what they do. I downloaded the videos for it, and I must say, that game looks absolutely gorgeous. Wish I had a copy of that for myself.
just looked at it at the local arcade when a shmups ace 1CCedray: it's just to weird for me. mushihime sama next to it looks just like a space invaders:lol: I think, that the PS2 can't handle that game anymore, but 360 & PS3 are just in front of our doors^^ some infos: http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/espgaluda2/ http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/espgaluda2/system/sys_player.html http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/espgaluda2/movie/index.html
Yeah, I've heard about people already 1CC'ing it on 2ch. I've gotten to stage 5 on one credit, for a whopping 80 million. I love stage 5 -- the whole "homage to ESPGaluda". Did you recognize the boss? I love your avatar, btw.
that game is tough, more a memorizer than a reaction shmup! goes it back 2 the roots? O Riri? :icon_bigg
Seriously!? I just played this in the arcade for the first time today, and even though it's pretty intense, I don't think it's much more radical than any other recent Cave games (not counting Ibara). I think it relates to Espgaluda I similarly to the way Daioujou followed Dodonpachi. More characters, a somewhat crazier bullets, and harder gameplay (especially playing on score). Typical Cave quality the way we expect and like it, but also no radical departure or surprises.
Cave isn't really big on making sequels of their own games... at least Ikeda, the main programmer isn't. When they do though, they usually take the first one, and throw in some steroids, and such is definitely the case with this one. It is very true to the original, except the main method of scoring is a little tweaked. Before, to get points, you'd try to chain enemies in kakusei mode. Now, I'd say the gist is to save up gold by killing enemies in kakusei mode, but to really get the big points, you have to chain them in the new kakusei mode (kakusei zesshikai). The multiplier goes up to x500, but the bullets don't turn into gold. The bullets that disappear actually spawn new bullets, so you're never really 100% safe. In fact, there's places where you do it and you get the shit kicked out of you! Hameko currently has quite a few vids up. #3379 is a pretty full run of stage 1, exploiting the tutorial bug. Check it out.
