    Very interesting video:

Wondering if the full debate at the Us senate is available somewhere ?

    I also love this video:

With the psychologist expert claiming that research is clear in showing that kids get violent by playing video games. 20 years later, it's still controversial, proving the psychologist being a great expert :p

A last video with an interview of Boon and Tobias:

Yeah, very interesting videos, although the first video mislabels the rating system shown as ESRB - it's actually Sega's own rating system. I don't think ESRB came around until a little later.

I'm sure some kids get violent playing video games however I'd wager they might get violent after watching The Terminator or participating in gang warfare.

People love a quick solution involving a scapegoat of something they simply don't like. These days there are plenty of people who grew up playing video games that didn't suddenly turn into sociopaths making themselves a man suit from human skin. Back in the Mortal Kombat days there hadn't much like it before and you had people who had never touched a video game flipping out the same way their parents did Communism.

Thanks for the videos. I especially laughed with the woman at the end of the first video, she says something along these lines:

"How would you like it if your daughter went out with a guy who had spent a couple of hours playing these games prior to going out?"

I've also read in Masters of Doom but never cross referenced it myself that just a day after Congress demanded that the VG Industry creates a rating system, Doom was released. I found it hilarious. XD

Yeah, like playing violent video games is equal to doing a bunch of cocaine and PCP.

The funny thing about the old days about blaming video games for violence is that these days the games are far worse than they were before. If you compare Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis or MK2 to Mortal Kombat 2011, or compare Doom to some modern FPS game then I can see some complaints about children or teens having that. But really by comparison the things they bitched about back then now look like a total joke.
