    You may joke!

But my little story - I was on the lovely island of miyajima (visit it now! It is awesome) I took a cable car up to a monkey sanctuary on the side of a mountain. It was pretty amazing, but I was well and truly attacked by a rogue monkey! I was eating some chicken via a stick, when this monkey made an attempt for it. I was with a girl as well so I was trying to be terribly cool about it. Hard indeed. And to top it all off a guy who was meant to be supervising thought it was terribly funny. I was seconds from giving it a whack before the guy took it off me.

This is the time of year that stuff happens. Expect a bonus, and find yourself unemployed. :( Hang in there. Hope everything works out for ya.

BTW If you want more hard buddha action check out the todaiji complex in nara (when in kyoto) you cannot get much more buddha in a single place if you tried.

    Thanks.

Me and a few others have basically been working above our grade since we started, so "they" (upper managent) said they would look into getting us re-graded so we earn the same money as the others doing the same work. What they did was decided our jobs should be a higher grade, so made our jobs obsolete, and we all have to re-apply for our jobs at a higher grade. They made the posts generalist IT rather than job specific IT so any twat from the office can apply and get it with half a decent application. So we will have to fight it out with probably 30 other people each. If we don't get it, they will very kindly put us on temporary promotion while we train up our replacements and look for work in the office as we would no longer be IT staff...

But anyway Todaiji has more Buddha per square inch? I am there!

I got laid off on Xmas one year. Lucky for me redundancy packages in Japan are obscenely fair for the employee. I got 8 months salary, and a better job.
