When msg 2 was released it came with a disc that detailed the development cycle of the game in quite a lot of detail originally as you can read the game was going to be set in the Middle East which would star solid snake again. However this was the point when everything was starting to heat up there so it was scrapped. I've always found interesting how there was meant to be another member of dead cell called china man but he was scrapped and the majority of his features like running on water were given to vamp.
Didn't Konami "lose" the final build of Silent Hill 2 (Silent Hill HD Collection consists of a buggy, earlier build of Silent Hill 2)? So, the prospects aren't really pretty so to speak...
