Another one of those wacky GOH threads. Here's the story this time. I have this 1 tooth that's had a root canal 2 apicoectomies, been broken, and Crown Lengthening for a crown... It's infected again. They don't think they can just clean out the infection this time so they want to take it out and put an implant in. I can't afford it $5000 paying for that even on a payment plan would pretty much force me to stay home as I wont have any money to go out. So I got the bright Idea of going to India to get this done. So far I priced the Implant which seems to be $650 US and the Plane Ticket at around $549 $400 if I go from New York the hotel is the only wild card... Have any of you done anything even remotely close to what I'm considering? Thailand is another option but... too afraid the clinics there treat local patients that might have AIDS....
I might be wrong, but doesn't Canada have a good health system? You only have to get Canadian citzenship. I'm saying this because a few years ago I read in this forums that Canada was a great option if you wanted to get cheaper medical bills.
Well, This also kills 2 birds with one stone, I get my tooth fixed cheap...and I get to knock another country off my music visit list. ALSO... I'm not giving up US Citizenship over this. I just want to save some money. My other option was taking advantage of a clinic a non profit organization has that does dental work free for homeless people... but that would be low even for me.
I've waited until my holiday back to Canada to get dental work done, because I couldn't trust the dentists in Japan. ...but I guess this is another rant for the Japan! Japan! thread.
Same reason I don't want to go to Thailand for dental work... don't trust em. This proves beyond any doubt that my sense of humor is lost on Europeans

I would recomended you a Singapore that's the best place for any medical threatment. But maybe what about to get a medical insurence plane and get it done in your town ?
Even if he had insurance, he wouldn't be saving very much money. I'd look into Mexico before going to India, probably find the same deal there and save money on plane tickets. Another good way to get cheap dental is to hit up dental schools, and let students work on you. It like a fourth the price, and they are supervised.
