Hi, maybe this was discussed before.

I have an issue with my GameShark for the N64. When I try to boot it (with any cartridge not necessarily the EverDrive) it says "ED64 bootloaded v1.00 file not found: /ED64/OS64.v64.

I'm not really sure why the EverDrive 64 would alter the GameShark, but what concerns me is there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to revert it back to where it was.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Putting two gamesharks in a row will flash the top one. I'm assuming it thought ED64 was one and copied its EEPROM. You will need to stack a good gameshark then the bad one to fix it.

Lame, means I have to buy a new one.

Well, let that be a warning to everyone to not use GameShark with an EverDrive 64...

You're a hundred percent certain the top one gets flashed and not the bottom one?

The GameShark on the bottom would have to boot first. They never acted as a passive pass-through device, even if defective.

Wonder if you could reflash it using the parallel port connector. I used to have one that used a smart card slot that they never had use for (for the public at least) and several others that used the parallel port for communication. Many was it great for uploading code lists with and taking screen shots.

I've been tempted to purchase a new GameShark...

I considered the parallel port, but I don't have a parallel cable unfortunately.

I've connected gameshark good + gameshark completely screwed + game and it seemed to copy the EEPROM and boot, but I'm still unclear on the true nature of why this happens.

Because it (Gameshark) was designed that way? Maybe they did it so they could easily restore or load up GameShark carts.

ED64 is known to not work with GameShark. Perhaps it should be noted on the website or somewhere else.

Wait... if it's flashed from the bottom to the top, then why was the OP's setup flashed from the top to the bottom?

Okay so I got a new GameShark and it works, I'd like to use it to restore the busted one.

Can any one confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt which one should go on top and which one on the bottom in order to flash it?
