Everdrive Blank Screen

Hi,

I am having a problem with my Everdrive MD, I was flashing a new game when the power to my Mega Drive 2 was interrupted. Now all I get is a black screen when I turn it on, it doesn’t ever come up with the licence by Sega screen just blank. I have tried the A+B+C & UP and the game swap technique with no success. Is there any way to fix this at all?

I believe its just A+B+C when powering the console on. I am not sure if the UP is making a difference or not.

 

Hi i tried that as well, i dont even get the Licenced by sega screen when i boot the cart up is that normal?

 

No, sounds like something wrong with cart. I assume system still runs other carts fine?

Seem a corruption of Flash EEPROM, you should be able to reload the OS.

 

Normally you can if you can access the reserve OS by holding down ABC, but if the cart isn't even booting I am unsure how you re-flash the OS. There is possibly a problem with the firmware and re-flashing that would allow you to boot again, but I am unsure. I don't know if Rageba has the ability to re-flash firmware. I assume if he/she did they would have already tried.

 

if i/he was to purchase one of those jtag cables and reflash the firmware would that bring it back to life. even from a blank screen like that. just thinking ide rather spend £10 on that then buying a new everdrive.

 

I don't think anyone could guarantee that it would. If you don't want to buy the cable then I would just contact the vendor that sold you the item.

I am sure if it was bought from us (Stone Age Gamer) or Retrogate (KRIKzz) we would be happy to help you fix the problem or replace the item. I am not sure what the policies of the other vendors are though.

 

JTAG will not help. if you can't see license screen, then bootcode on the flash is totaly dead. the only way to fix it is send cart to me for bootcode reflash

 

Hi, if you dont find reflashing it for me i would be forever greatful, i take it you just require the everdrive board excluding the cartridge case. just a few questions. do you require a service fee for reflashing? should i include a note with it? what address should i send it to?

service is free, you just should send a board, smal description and your back address inside of the package.

Just gone and purchased a super everdrive to put me on in the meantime, looking forward to playing E.V.O and earthbound
