    Hey All,

I finally got myself a MegaCD and was excited about the prospect of using my EverDrive PCB 2.1 to provide region free bios gaming :) So after reading the requirements I realised it was time to update my firmware and OS. Firmware is V5, my OS is V7.... yes I know!!. Today I ordered myself a USB altera blaster to deal with the firmware and downloaded the latest OS from the Everdrive website, only to find that when firing up the console, the update OS option is no where to be seen :-( Ive tried the A+B+C trick, A+B+C+UP trick, Cartridge swap out + A+B+C trick, the cartridge swap out +A+B+C+up trick but still no update OS option....:-(

    HEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!!! :crying:

It's not in the toolbox menu?

This is the first time I've heard about this issue. Sorry, wish I could help.

You may need to hold down A+B+C while powering system on and update OS that way/

That too doesn't work! Is there a special folder that the update needs to reside? Or will the root of the SD be ok?

very old os was made without buidin update option, you should use external module for update.
here is link to module: http://krikzz.com/pub/ex/update-os-mod.bin
you should install this thing via module menu and then run
keep in mind that you should update OS before than update firmware and never not try to use new firmware with old OS

Ok getting closer.. Thanks for the replies guys,

    I have installed the module and clicked start, it now takes me to a screen;

    init mmc...
    ERROR: fat init failed: 2

    which changes to

    init mmc...
    ERROR: fat init failed: 2

    When I press a button.

I then tried to reformat the card using the everdrive but when trying to update the os again I get the same error :crying:

I installed the os as a module as suggested, it worked a treat thank you so much!! I was only 24 versions behind lol

Just waiting for my blaster to arrive and I'll attempt the firmware!
