I have a few questions about the Everdrive, for when mine arrives. I want to make sure it's compatible with my system and won't have any kind of errors. My setup: Japanese Megadrive VA4 Model 1, American Sega CD, American 32X. Only mods are as follows: RGB to Y/Pr/Pb adapter, which is external to the console, but does use the 5v power from the AV output.. Cause of this, I did use a better PSU on the Megadrive, that has 200mA more current than the original, just to be safe.. Sega CD is not modded, only recently repaired (battery), and lastly, 32X, which is a virgin, never had a screw driver touch it. I plan to use a 2GB Sandisk Ultra SD/USB hybrid disk, and pretty much just load only what I need on it, not just bloat it with thousands of ROMs. Also, Megakey should work with this setup, right? Oh, and for the Sega CD universal BIOS, I have a question: I have a Megacart also, that I use ALL the time, because it's the only way I can play Sega CD games. However, CD 32X games fail to work, likely because a cartridge is in the 32X, which probably gets in the way for those games to work properly. However, I heard from someone that the Everdrive has the same issue also in this same situation, 32X CD games don't load. Will there be a fix for that? I know there aren't many games for the 32X CD, but I tell ya, I do like Corpse Killer. It's something I like to play to just waste time.
cd bios loading works via 32x, but megakey doesn't. so some CD games may not work if they perform region checks manually.
by the way, coud you check if you can see some glitches in road rash, if you use bios loading function via megacart. i still can't fix this thing. also, one guy, said that neo myth have same problem in road rash. typical glitch is a green rects in the sky or even on the road or on horizon line
Oh I don't have Road Rash. I'll need to see if I can somehow download the game.. Thing is, I use a Mac, so unless it's just an ISO and no audio tracks, I can't generally burn them (as .cue support on Mac is terrible to non-existant, even on burning software). And sadly, all stores only sell stupid sports sega cd titles.
Well roxio toast on the Mac can do the .bin ones, but finding the right one is dificult. Trying to find one right now.
Yea, so this is my setup btw: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v395/Evilweredragon/ram-2.jpg I can't wait till this thing gets SD card access. I have the entire goodgen set, 8GB worth, ready to get put on a SD card and in my everdrive. ALL I could ever ask for!!
Oh, one more question (still waiting for my Everdrive). Do the roms HAVE to end in .bin? I have the complete set of Goodset ROMs (MD/32X and SMS) and they all have custom extensions, like .gen and .32x and .sms, but I have checked, they are in fact really just renamed .bin as they are identical to raw binary dumps.
