Hey my friend is having a tough time trying to install the Everdrive MD, Super Everdrive, and Everdrive64. All the videos on youtube make it seem so easy. Do you know anyone that made a very detailed video or step by step process?
All of it. He found the roms. He could put them on the memory card. He formatted the SD card. For some reason, it isn't playing. Maybe you can both download TeamViewer, and you can show him how to do it. If anyone has facebook, you can send hi ma message at joeyclsrk@yahoo.com.
You need to be more clear on what exactly the problem is. You are using terminology that doesn't even fit with the EverDrives. Install? There is nothing to install, unless you are referring to installing it into a plastic shell. If you don't care how good it looks you can use a knife and drill to cut plastic. Otherwise if you have a Dremel that is your best bet. Does the OS for the EverDrives come up when you turn on your system?
If I knew exactly, I would tell you. I am sure the everdrive isn't rocket science. He said that formatted the memory card, put the games on the memory card. I am not sure if he put it in like alphabetical order or not. I am waiting a response back. He said that there is no format on the everdrive as the user manual describes. Should he basically put them on the memory as I described and try it out or what? I know I got the powerpak; you have to press reset a couple of times to make sure it isn't in the right region. I was thinking someone could use TeamViewer and show him how it is done. You can grab from his computer and set it up; the way it should be. I appreciate your patience and answers to these inquiries.
There is nothing to show at all. The whole point of the EverDrive line of flash carts is to be pretty straight forward. Most peoples problems seem to be using bad ROM files or incorrectly formatted SD cards. You place ROMs on SD card, put SD card into EverDrive, put EverDrive into system, turn on system, select ROM file you want to play, press start and play. Have you done all these steps? I cannot give you ROM files, maybe someone else can. Maybe you are using an incorrectly formatted ROM. Unfortunately I can not help you obtain ROMs. Also what I mean by being clear on the problem is telling us where you are getting stuck. Saying "I can't get it to work" could mean dozens of different things, saying "I load up OS, select ROM, hit start, and X happens" is more of what we are looking for. Also unlike the EverDrive-MD and the Super EverDrive, the EverDrive64 requires the OS file to be in a directory named "ED64" on the SD card. You can obtain the latest OS files for the ED64 at krikzz.com. I think you feel like we don't want to help you, but we need more information.
I thought that was exactly the issue, but I am not help him because I am not by him. If he were to download the files, would you be able to help separate and format the sd card using that teamviewer? I know that you're trying to help. I know you have limitations on what you to do and to protect you. I think he has them in one big file. He said he just gets a blank screen when he tries that, but I will work with him right now. I'll keep you updated. He was downloading the master system download emuparadise. He has tried sonic and knuckles, contra hard corps, zombies ate my nieghbors everything goes fine until it gets to where the game is supposed to start and then a flash and blank screen
Are all the EDs doing the same thing? Are the ROMs unzipped? Are they separated in different folders, not just all in one bulk folder? Has he tried other SD cards with the same result? Does he not have an internet connection that he could come here and ask himself? Are they clean ROMs or hacks? Have him update the OS on the ED card. What it may boil down to is that he may have a rare, bunk ED.
The ROMS can NOT be in a ZIP or any other type of compressed file. If they are not zipped then it sounds like you have bad ROM format. Like I said I can not help with ROMs. Someone else here may be able to help you.
