Hi all. I'm eagerly waiting for an EverdriveMDv3 to be used with a Sega Nomad. I know Nomad is not compatible with SMS games, so I wonder if the push button upon the cart is useless, as it should pause SMS games, or on the contrary has other functions. Can anyone kindly solve this doubt? Many thanks in advance.
This page has the how to for the SMS mode on a Nomad as well as region mod and LCD mod. Basically for SMS mode you need to solder a wire to the ASIC chip pin 45 and then to cart slot pin B30. B30 is on backside. This will allow for SMS games and therefore the pause button on cart SHOULD work. (Don't quote me on this since I have yet to do it to my own Nomad...)
Thanks for your reply. But I'm not interested at all in playing SMS games through the flash cart and therefore modding the Nomad (which I myself woudn't do anyway, risking to screw the console up, given my total unfamiliarity in soldering wires..). I wish I knew if the push button on the top of the cart is useless or not on a normal Sega Nomad.
