So lately the creek right next to my apartment has been pretty high due to heavy rains. Well I think the rain last night finally pushed it to its limits.

I got woke up at 6am by people yelling that the upper parking lot was almost gone. So I rushed out and moved my car to higher ground and ran back and took this picture.

Can't tell now that there's two parking lots on the right side is the upper one that got flooded while I was gone and the left is a lower one that's normally 3-4 feet lower than the upper one.

Here's me and my girlfriend walking back to our apartment. We didn't have time to grab supplies and stuff since the parking lot was filling fast.

There's an old people home right next door to my apartment that was evacuated last night and for a good reason too. This morning about 7am I actually got to see part of the foundation fall out on this building and cause a massive hole in the ground.

Yeah that hole wasn't there before. =P

Anyways since it took a while to move electronics and pack stuff because they didn't know how high the water would get and my apartment is 1/2 a story obove ground level. To make matters better the bottom floor already had a couple inches of water in it. Anyways we got stuck in our apartment and had no way of leaving. Eventually around 10am (I think?) a boat pulled up right next to the building and said they were evacuating the complex since they didn't know how high the water would get, and said we could be flooded in for 3-4 days.

After we got dropped off at city hall we walked over to a friends house to stay at and I decided to go out on my own and take a couple pictures.

The main street in town. Perkins is closed! D=

Can't really get to Target right now either. Walmart is the same way, but it's impossible to get closer.

Houly. Hope you will be fine after this disaster. And don't get eaten by that hole.

Got lucky and water went down around my apartment at least rather quickly. I'm back in my apartment and the downstairs smells god awful. I feel terrible for the people there. They just moved in from Jordan 10 days ago and now they can't stay there and the landlord "says" there are no extra apartments available despite having a giant sign on the side of the building saying rooms for lease... They got about 4 inches of water down there that is just soaked into the carpet. Really though other than my apartment and the grocery store there's not much to go to. The town is practically an island right now with only one road to actually get out.

To make matters worse they had 6 water main breaks today and it basically emptied all of the towns water towers. They turned off the cities water at 2:30 today, but had it running again by 8PM. The only problem is it won't be drinkable until early next week. They have stations setup where you can take 2 gallons of water per day per person, but it still really sucks.

Also I've decided I'm a fucking idiot because there was a small bit of water cars had been driving through for a couple hours so I went to the grocery store to get my car and I must have been driving too fast because car died halfway through the bit of water. I let it sit for like 3 hours and still didn't start. I just hear a loud squeal when I try to start it..

Quick, toss a grenade down the grub hole.

In seriousness, I hope you're alright. Looks like a pretty drastic situation.

Sorry to hear about all the bad luck. =( Hopefully brighter days a head.

Also "Everywhere I live has a natural disaster,..." Would you be so kind not to move to toronto then. =) I quite like not having to deal with any major ND since I left California. =P

The squeal might be from your starter motor trying to move the piston, but its full of water.

Yeah I'm sure there's water somewhere. The water thing happened at like 7PM last night and today at 11AM it was still doing the same thing. My dad was going to call sometime today and try and help me over the phone. If he can't help me over the phone I'm probably going to be carless for a few days since the good mechanics I know and that were recommended to me were on that main street that was flooded. Even though the road is driveable now all the businesses have a huge mess to clean up. I did find one mechanic 5 blocks away from me that's open, but he wanted to charge $100 just to tow my damn car. I paid $50 when I had to have it towed off the highway once by a different company.

Also I do not understand why my work is open the water isn't usable till early next week so hand washing and dishes have to be done with bottled water.

I think it's time you considered your gravitational pull is causing these phenomenons.

Have you tried moving to a deserted piece of land and see what happens?

As long as your car doesn't go "CLICK..." you should be fine.

Live only on the second or third floor wherever you move. Keep a boat and food in your apartment.

That's where I was lucky the second floor is actually half a floor above ground and it didn't get up to me.

I had my car towed yesterday $50 dollars for 5 blocks to the mechanic... Considering he's the only mechanic open on this end of town he said he probably wasn't going to get to it till Monday (closed Sunday). Hope it's not anything too expensive!

I probably would have just ignored the police call to move people out if I would have had more food at home. Was planning to go grocery shopping that day originally.

K-Panggg: I've considered that, but if it was a deserted piece of land they're would probably somehow be an earthquake, dust storm, or something. =P
