Hi All, One of my mag contacts has given me an official version of XDKRecoveryXenon20764.10 and once un-rared it's a .exe file and not the expected series of file formats (and my contact is away for the weekend). Can the devkit read this if I simply burn it to DVDR? Or do I have to FTP in to the 360 with Neighbourhood and run it that way? Thanks for your help.
run the exe on the pc. and you will workout how it works. its a remote recovery. but i never heard of that version so just be careful
Do remote recoveries work without the sdk installed? Anyway, just put in your XDK ip or name into the exe on your pc, have your XDK hooked up on your network and you should be good to go. Once you run it, it should reboot show a screen saying its starting the recovery.
I have the official SDK installed anyways, so that's not an issue. And my mate has used this on his own work DevKit so I trust it completely. I'll FTP into my kit via the SDK and try it from there. Thanks for the help
............. you dont put it on the kit! you run it from the pc.... and enter the ip shown in xshell on the 360. also you dont need to ftp your kit you can just use neighbourhood
I've started doing this process, but the installer froze twice and now my 360 has been saying "UPDATING Do not power off or reboot" for the last 20 minutes... :banghead: Should a remote recovery take THAT long? Is it safe at any point to retry the .exe? I can still use neighbourhood to 'see' the 360 and the HD contents...
yeah just reload the exe it does crash often (for me any way because i have to use a crossover cable...). if worst comes to worst you can use a disk recovery to revive it.
Thanks for that, I'm using a crossover cable too, but it installed it super quick this time (with the new fall dashboard). All working fine, can play review code once again, so much appreciated!
