OK, so some of you will know I work in a games shop. Sometimes I get the staff perk of being able to take a game home the day before release. OK, nothing amazing I know, but hey, it can be fun being pretty much the only person on Xbox Live from the UK!! heh. Today, however, I have something WAY further in advance than that. In fact, I can't use it yet :crying: Oh, there's something else... I'll upload the pic in a sec.....
Only what's on the back of the box, really... assuming that's Wii screenshots, which I assume it is. They look ok... perfectly acceptable, I'd say. It is a shame that people forget that it isn't about the looks but the gameplay. So what if it looks better on 360? It may look "more realistic", but how realistic IS aiming your gun with a thumbstick? Look at some top selling games with a novel method of gameplay.... e.g. Guitar Hero, DDR, Donkey Konga, Sambe de Amigo.... are their graphics top notch? NO! Did it hinder sales? Err, nope! If you think the future of games is better graphics, go get ripped off by buying a Playstation 3. Enjoy playing the rehashes!
Those games are hardly meant to be realistic though. CoD is. I'm annoyed CoD3 won't be getting a PC release as that's easily the best platform for FPSs.
Hehe, yeah... probably... after all, expos in the UK are rare enough themselves nowadays!! COD3 may not be getting a PC release, but a new COD will.
There's the same Wii expo at London soon, too bad I m quite far and too busy. Give it a shot, and see how if you can score anything

Ooh, crap, good point! I'll get onto that.. heh. Well, no, not really. Ridge Racer. Its another Ridge Racer. X is accelerate, square is brake. Geez, it doesn't even use the analogue triggers by default? Call of Duty 3. Its another 1st person shooter. Oh, sorry, you can shake the pad to shake people off you. Which takes ages. Umm, yeah, great improvement. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. Another TH game. Except you use the remote to control him - DIFFERENT GAMEPLAY. Zelda. Another Zelda, but you use the remote for fishing, shooting, riding etc. DIFFERENT GAMEPLAY - and used very well. Wii Sports. More tennis, and other games. But you play like ACTUAL tennis, not with a pad. DIFFERENT GAMEPLAY. You see what I mean? PS3 has the SAME games, with better graphics. Wii has the SAME games, similar graphics, but much better gameplay. It is innovative, PS3 is not.
So COD3 only has a shake feature, thats all? I bet people will think another action when they see a guy shaking the wiimote... Or hot coffe:lol:
I meant COD3 on PS3 COD3 on Wii uses the remote as a gun, in the holster if Nintendo ever release it! Therefore, COD3 on Nintendo is more realistic. The controls on PS3 SUCK! And yes, I've played it. I was hoping to take a pic of a 360 game, PAL version, that isn't allegedly released until March. Only problem is, err, its gone missing! No new Wii stuff has turned up yet I guess I'll have to just leave you with a pic of some of our more expensive SNES / N64 carts.......
It's all the same GAMEPLAY, just a different interface. And it is being used the SAME WAY in ALL GAMES. So where is innovation? Replacing a button press with a wrist twitch isn't innovation, at least in my book. I bet 95% of Wii games are exactly that.
I can see Nintendo fighting numerous Repetitive Strain Injury lawsuits in the near future. "I Wiied too hard and now I can never work again".
Im interested to how COD3 will be on Wii, i was thinking of getting it but then again im halfway through downloading the regular Xbox game, which may be a pretty good version....I forgot they still make all the games for normal xbox hehe.
