I got to try this out at PAX back in July. It's pretty cool. But I'm not really interested in the game all that much. But is some sweet technology that's for sure. Hopefully some cooler games come out for it.
I'm sure Sony are waving some banknotes under Namco Bandais nose for them to write something of their battle card games for the PS3. If Pokemon wasn't a Nintendo brand then just think how much the PS3 would increase in sales.
Oh! I didn't realise they were still selling the PS3  :110: Seriously is that all they can come up with?
I agree with Tach on this, actually. I thought Eye of Judgment is a pretty cool idea, as far as card games go. If this was released by Nintendo, it would be another Pokemon related game, and would be a best seller. Followed by such claims of "Innovation" and "Nintendo does it again!" Seriously. At least this machine makes Video game related card games seem interesting to me. Rather than not totally useless, anyway.
Shouldnt cost too much to get a full deck of boosters as they can be copied using a pack of felt tip pens LOL http://kotaku.com/gaming/rumor/eye-of-judgment-card-creating-easier-than-expected-315714.php
It's pretty obvious nobody in this thread has played it, so I figured I'd mention this... This game is awesome. Sure you need a PS3, sure you need to set up a camera, playmat, cards, etc. but trust me when I say that the people who have played it, love it. When I saw it at PAX I said "Who the hell is going to play that", turns out the answer is me, and MANY other people. Seems like such a waste for such powerful technology, but it's fun, and god knows Sony could use more fun on their console.
If you're referring to me, let me assure you I'm the furthest thing from a Sony fanboy (Nintendo fanboy actually). Anytime anyone asks me what I think of the PS3, my answer is simple... the games are pretty, but not fun. Eye of Judgment has been the exception though, and I'm looking forward to Wipeout HD. I've been on the forums for a while, but I'm more of a lurker and only post if I have something to say that hasn't already been said.
I agree on this too. I think this is a new and possibly fun use of the EyeToy camera. I have to get a PS3 first, but this would be on my "I have to buy that" list if the price were a little lower here. 70$ --> 100€ is just not fair.
