Thank you, I'll email some other pics your way. And Madhatter It's more in the same vein as Starcraft the only other in sub genre of RPG that I think of right now. It is Coded by a subsidiary of Marigul, who are also a subordinate that Nintendo themselves have their hand in. Or rather it is like nintendo's right hand actually. None of the Marigul funded organizations did Ogre Battle. It was Cheap Trick and it's completly original and was the fuss of the town if not Doubutsu Banchou at Spaceworld even with Animal forrest there.

Hmm. Got anything Squaresoft er SquareEnix made? And I'm only interested in SNES and n64. No I didn't pay for that one auctioned on Yahoo Japan. This came in a large lot of Marigul's stuff. Mine costed more and I'm sure is last version made.

Hey Shiggsy I really enjoyed all the Nintendo dev coverage you've done :smt023

So that would make 3. Your 2, plus the one on YJ that finished at 66,000 yen.

    Glad I don't collect for / own an N64... I'd have bid a grand. I'm a sucker for protos.

I don't have 2 or any copy, one original only. I own no copying device and have never dumped or had dumped anything for this matter, cool eh. :smt045

The reason I'm said that was because the guys who translated Oger64 for US release prolly got beta copies to play around with Echo Delta before it got scrapped. This is more of a theory because Nintendo is known to keep extra copies of beta software, especially debug Zelda 64, the NOA guys still fool around in that game in the Temple of Light.

As for Biohazard 0, I'll post it in the appropriate thread.

  13. Well like he said, the Ogre Battle 64 team had nothing to do with the game in the least, so that prolly rules out the idea that they have a beta. And of course you're going to have some beta software lying around for a project you're translating - you'll need SOME way to check your changes on running code.

To clear up a bit of confusion that people seem to be having, the copy of Echo Delta that arsenal is selling is NOT the same copy that went for the crazy 66000 yen in Yahoo! Japan a few months back, which it appears that several of us were salivating over. Therefore, this makes 2 known copies of the proto floating around somewhere.

It would be kindof nice if we saw some sortof N64 prototype explosion, with all sorts of things making their way slowly to the surface - this isn't the kind of thing you stumble across regularly.

I know for a fact there are more copies than that, because there were more demo pods than that at Nintendo Spaceworld 2000.Nintendo never throws any of this stuff away,so there are more copies to be eaked obviously at different stages of development.

We will ask you again as well, what price are you wanting for it.We really need to come up with a rule like Ntsc mods!!!People must state a price when selling, otherwise it just becomes a free for all.People are waiting to see what some of the less knowing will pay.

i don't know why, but n64 proto carts always apeal me. sadly enough, im sure ill not have enough of cash to buy it. :smt022

  16. We should have all the N64 faithful pool our cash like the board did with a certain other game and buy it to have it dumped for those who contributed, but make sure A) the guy who has ownership isn't a total flake and B) that we don't have it ripped by a bunch of clowns from a renowned warez team, resulting it being all over the internet within hours... :angry

We could keep this like some of the Japanese PC-Engine proto games - nobody leaks or we kill them. :smt043

I'd be happy to dump any cartridge game for the scene and wouldn't care at ALL about keeping it, also wouldn't mind using escrow to reassure the sender. I could even dump it with ASSEMbler/Kevin watching over my shoulder :-D (Can't say that he won't try keeping it)

''temple of light?'' ? the place where you can see all the sages? what's so special about the debug zelda and it?

    Cheap Trick (Marigul)
    Ambrellla (Marigul)
    Noise (Marigul)

were all conscript to the same resources under instruction and and funding by Nintendo itself. Marigul Management inc. kept track of books and okayed decisions. The whole Marigul outfit was like an outside contract yet still something controlled by Nintendo planning actually. Since Nintendo got to charge what games would be made it might be hand in hand Nintendo should have someone else that would comb over the English there if not through some channel in a NA division.

As for the Temple of Light? It may only be an access point to where certain debug features were located and why you'd go there when playing around with it.

I spoke to one of my sources to whom I ALWAYS TRUST, and if your copy is indeed the almost finished one then there is not many of these about at all.The only ones that existed were the ones for Super mario testers, and there was not a big team of testers on this game.He estimates at around seven to ten,and bearing in mind that alot of the SMC testers are collectors, this may be one of the only leaked copies to make it to the west.
