    Line scrolling was see as pretty darn impressive back in the day.. a few of my favs:

    Battletoads in Battlemanics (SNES)
    Air Zonk (Tg-16)
    Areo Blasters (TG-16)
    Street Fighter II (and all its various versions)
    Ect. Ect. Ect.
