Best known for their PS3 game????? I think not. Best known for their excellent SNES Turrican games as well as other classics.

Recently I think that is the case. You are hardly going to say Factor 5 best known for old games they did over 15 years ago are going bust as it shows thaat they been a bit crap since then. Although going on Lair, it was a bit crap, even if it was on your favourite machine the Wii it would still be crap. I also remember they did the Musy middleware.

Surely C64 and Amiga versions of the game, personally I forgot it was on the Super Nintendo. Other classics? Name some without using google, in fact name one that wasn't Turrican or a Star Wars game.

My favourite machine is the saturn :110: I just happen to own only the Wii from the latest Gen systems.

No way mate. the SNES Super Turrican and Super Turrican 2 are far superior from graphics to music to gameplay. Just better in everyway although I'm sure Amiga fans will dissagree until they turn bule. As for other Factor 5 games that aren't Star Wars or Turrican you could count Indian Jones on the SFC plus they also did the Amiga ports of R-Type and PC kid. They also did the GameBoy port of Contra Alien Wars which was pretty good. I'm sure they've done more stuff as well.

Some talented guys, but the CEO was a egomaniac. I feel bad for the team, but not for him.

They ve done MusyX for GBA, GC and Wii in extension.

They ve done Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine - better than the PC version, only on n64 =)

They ve done 4 Star Wars games lately on home consoles (starting with Rogue Squadron, Battle for Naboo, RS2 and RS3)

They did Lair (and what a bad game it was, game-wise)

and now I think they're underway with some nintendo IP, rumoured to be everything from the next pilotwings to kid icarus.

I d hate to see them go away, they re really talented when it comes to technology

    EDIT: Oops:

As of 2008 December 20th it appears Factor 5 have closed there doors, and ceased on producing any games till further notice.

    Merry Christmas Julian:p

Now all we need is for Lucasarts to stop making or licensing Star Wars games and the world will be a better place.

Factor5 were working on the GCN Pilotwings, which was canned late in development. I wonder if we will see that leak soon?

Sorry for bringing this up but does anyone have any new information about this?
I know they were supossed to close down in december but I haven't seen an official notice yet...

I'd really be dissapointed if they would actually close down. There were some really bright minds working at Factor 5. Think not only about the high quality games they made but also about all the cutting edge tools.

Surely you've noticed that other games on the N64 used the voice compression technique made by them? And the Rogue Squadron games had some of the best graphics for both the N64 and the GC.
(Considering Rogue Leader was one of the first games released for GC.)

Factor 5 used to be a second party of Nintendo so it's certainly a big deal.

Second party partner only means that they had an exclusivity contract with Nintendo, though. Just because you agree to make products for one company doesn't mean your products are any good ;-) Not that I'm saying Factor 5 aren't good, but you get my point.
