http://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2018/03/okinawa-rush-heads-up-new-dreamcast.html The sequel of Flashback. It never enjoyed the same credit and success of its 2D predecessor and it's even despised by many people. But it's interesting that another "retail" 3D game will be made available to the Dreamcast within its overflood of 2D releases (bar some exceptions). I have the feeling that they may be using this reimplementation http://cyxdown.free.fr/f2b/ to carry over the game to the Dreamcast. It has received some shading improvements which would make it look a little less dated for the platform. Another option to prevent that would be using the textured models of the PlayStation version. But again, it's just my guess.
This is the first time, in about an age, that anything "new" to Dreamcast has interested me. I liked Flashback as a kid, and I never stumbled across a PSX copy at the right time. It seemed neat, if not complicated and slow.
No, it's actually mentioned in that link, despite not seemengly being the "main attraction" of that described batch of new Dreamcast relases. In my case, it's actually the release I'm interested the most. Same here. Although I do have Fade to Black in both its PC and PSX releases, with the PC version being the one I owned and played back in the day. But it's good to have this game released on additional platforms given the few ones that got it back in the day compared to the multiple releases of its predecessor. And especially considering that no Sega platform ever received this game (it seems it was actually planned for the Sega Saturn and then cancelled) despite the huge success that Flashback was on the Mega Drive.
I loved Another World and Flashback on the Genesis so I was really excited about Fade to Black on PS1. It was disappointing when I played it though. Poor game engine and clunky controls. Had the game been made further into PS1 console life, it may have been a better game. It will be good to see a graphics uplift but I hope they have addressed the engine and controls as well.
