    Hi All

Bought my first SNES of Evilbay the otherday it had been modded with a 50/60hz switch and had the cartridge slot widened, it seems to work fine with the RF cable it came with so i bought a scart cable for it, when you first power it up it looks fine but after a few seconds everything but bright white just fades to nothing any one any clues please.

Is it RGB SCART? And does it just do that with the SCART cable, or over RF, too?

Ok took my scart lead to bits just to make sure it was rgb and it was wired up the same as the ntsc scart lead on this site http://members.optusnet.com.au/eviltim/gamescart/gamescart.htm#snes
so i faffed about a bit more and found the problem was actually my scart switch box ??? if i connect the snes straight to the TV everything is fine, don't understand how a switch box can cause the problem perhaps someone could give me a good reason.

SCART switch boxes are generally of poor construction. I wouldn't bother using one myself!

I agree but my TV only has 1 Scart input and is wall mounted and I have 6 consoles that use scart, 3 that use Component, 1 that use's HDMI and 1 that use VGA and my PC so i dont really have much choice
