I remember back in the days when I had my first computer that I refused to use IE and always used Netscape.

    Times sure have changed.

I used to use NN too back when I was a kid. You should take comfort in the fact that FireFox/Mozilla is the continuation of Netscape.

I think it's the best, the last versions were nothing more than Firefox with a green skin and a weather bar...

    And I agree, AOL sucks.

    I remember NN, good times.

I fucking HATE AOL. Everytime I tell someone not to use it, they use it, then complaign to me.

I went to my mom's house to set up her wireless network, and notice the every computer just SUCKED, and they were modern PC's. AOL icon on every desktop. =( My stepdad thinks I'm stupid and there the best ever.

More or less, in fact the Netscape wasn't doing anything but applying a crappy skin to Firefox, a skin that you can even switch for the Firefox original.
Netscape used the same plugins, addons and skins that the real browser behind, was updated when Firefox was, and even if you type about:mozilla in Netscape you'll have almost the same result, a bible passage (or something similar) on a dark red background.

The cause why AOL dropped Netscape probably must be (in my opinion) Mozilla working on the to-be-released 3.0 version and maybe AOL didn't have the interest to make a Firefox 3.0 mod (even when the mod is almost nothing it would require some work), and with almost no one using NN they just decided to abandon the project.

My mom's working on it. I got away from him by moving out at age 16, so I only have to put up with the crap when I visit.

Good riddance. The only good thing to come out of Netscape was the Firefox project.
