I found some strange famiclone controller in my house: it has a 3.5mm jack on the back. The photos of the board: http://imageshack.us/g/155/imgp2876y.jpg/ I have the board and the case without buttons (nothing special, some genesis clone controller with a hole for the jack). Some comic thing: the name of the console (written on the controller case) was "STAR GAME CONSOLLE". Yeah, they mispelled console xD It has a Micro Genius famiclone port. Do you know for what reason there is a 3.5mm port on it? MarioInside
I'm guessing it's because controller 2 on the original Famicom had a microphone built into it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Entertainment_System#Game_controllers
Some Zipper gamepads had this feature: There was a sound-jack on the joypad to get the game music with ear-phones. The controller plug had a chinch plug for the red a/v-jack on the side of the NES. I think it is a good idea to have the gamesound in earphones from the gamepad. I'd like it.
Some Micro Genius clones (and probably others) actually output the game audio from the controller port and have a headphone jack on the controller, I guess this is for something like that.
I know EXACTLY what that is... This is an ENDING MAN 2 or a Terminator 2 Famiclone controller board. A super cheap single chip mostly PAL famiclone found everywhere in Asia. The early models had a headphone jack built in to make them look a little more complex. Later verions had that jack removed to cut down costs even further or due to lack of use. I have seen some models with only the metallic ring part of the jack but with no actual connector on the board. :banghead: Those clone masters will do anything to make a really cheap product even cheaper. ! Here I a pic of one, there is an endless list of versions of this thing.
