Sadly if it's PAL, it's retail. That guy is dreaming.

I think that's Howard Phillips' ebay account, and judging from his high rating and the items he sold, I'm fairly certain it's not a fake.

Wasn't there a thread on here long ago that discussed a lot of the prototype Nintendo stuff Phillips found and posted pictures of online? Yep...

Isn't that the same cart? "The Super Mario World PAL version boots and appears to be the production release version : /"

To me it look like a Retail version or Promo that include a Super Nintendo as a bundle package.

I used to have a XBOX360 console that come with a game called Project Gotham racing 4 as a bundle package. Yet Project Gotham racing 4 is a promo disc.

Yeah, that is Howard Philip's (aka the guy in charge of Nintendo of America in the late 80s) auction. Definitely not fake, but certainly not worth $23,000. I'm betting it could get $500+, just on name value alone, but it isn't worth bothering from a preservation point of view. I would fully expect the final binary on there.

Dunno about this one but it looks like common review copy, found one of these in flea market for about 1 euro in late 90s, dumped a few years ago - matches GoodSNES ROM (1.0). Miracle didn't happen.

It's not just the game, it's the proto/pre-release SNES as well. 23 grand is still madness though of course. :p
