I have this original Famicom that I added a new cartridge port to because the original one had some sort of crud the could not be cleaned out. Everything went fine adding the new port last week, and while playing it today, the controller started acting all weird. Right became start, up became select, and it acted as the the right button was being held down. Start, select, and A did nothing but the B button functioned normally. I should also mention that I was using an NES controller adapter that I built. It has been working without any issues so I assumed it may have been the controller itself. I tried a new NES controller but the same thing happened. Then I plugged in the original Famicom player 1 controller....same thing. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I dont see any debris or gunk around on the mobo that needs cleaned. Could it be a cap or resistor failing? This really bums me out because I was so glad that the Famicom was useful again. Thanks in advance for any help.
