Hey guys, somebody e-mailed this to me:

I can't read Japanese, anything interesting here?

What's the deal with that portable Famicom in the upper right hand corner?

    Is that a proto wondermega?

    Snes playstation?

Thats quite a nice scan. Basically it's a "What could have been" article. The colour TV thing is what the GameBoy could have been if the technology was there. The Wondermega is an early concept design and i guess you can figure out what the SFC-CD is :)

The Wondermega image looks like something out of Science Fiction. The SnesCD does, however, look pretty 90's and very stylish at that. I'd love to have a game system that looks like that.

Actually, that's probably the original stand-alone PlayStation unit that got Sony into hot water with Nintendo, as it doesn't seem to NEED an SNES...

Yep, it says so on the scan.

    "Purei-Sute-shon-

Not today's Playstation, but the stand alone unreleased Super-Famicom based CD Rom"

Or something. I didn't get all of the damn Kanji, as usual.

The Snes CD looks damn stylish - would look better with Black carts though, as that would fit in with the colour style. And the portable famicom in the top right is very GBA SP-esque. Nice Find

what the hell does pure sute shon mean? does it have other meaning in japanese?

  9. It's a secret Japanese phrase, nearly untranslatable into any other worldly language, except as an obscure Taiwanese idiom that has a reasonably similar meaning. Basically, the general gist of it is "secret-beyond-secret, never to be seen in the light of day" but western languages just can't do the translation justice.

Err, dude, you need to write Left and Right on your shoes again..... ;)

Steadster, if you want black carts then I'd suggest you just play Killer Instinct ;) It was to be released at the end of the Super Nintendo's life - I doubt they're gonna re-release all those games just so the carts match ;)

Yeah that'd be funny. The first one is huge as a house, the second one is as small as a Mac Mini.

Hehe, I remember the silver cross proto. Did it actually work, or was that stuff running on something else, like maybe an alpha?
