The father of the Halo series, Jason Jones, is extremely interested in working on the Nintendo Revolution, according to the latest issue of EGM. This hasn't been made public it seems because Microsoft has kept the interview hidden from the public. In the interview Mr. Jones talks about a FPS on the system and some of the great ideas he had for it. This definitely says something about the possibilities of a FPS on the Revolution if the father of Halo is even intrigued by the thought of it. This certainly will not make Microsoft happy. It is bad enough that they are receiving quite a bit of bad publicity after the Xbox 360 launch, now they have their biggest developer, of their biggest franchise, talking about possibilities of games on other systems. I'm sure nothing will come out of this, but it is quite interesting to hear in the grand scheme of things. Honestly, who doesnt? the whole control scheme of revo (remote+analog) seems like created for FPS. Apart from an Xbox pad with a trackball or something is the only way to play a FPS like in the PC but without a pesky keyboard.
but he sold his company to MS...oops, It'll never happen. It'll be fun seeing the fanboy wars on certain other boards though.
Indeed, unless he quits M$. But since an Xbox engineer already quitted to work on Phantom I think he should think twice before jumping the shark...
well I don't see why he would leave. He's probably just bored, since some sites are saying Halo 3 is for the most part done, except MS is holding it for a down the road release when more people have their fucking system and when the ps3 comes out.
I seriously doubt Halo3 is done, mainly becos bungie's technical skills are pretty low (look at halo 1) and is been barely a year since halo2 and they took more than 3 years to finish the 2nd one. I say him is playing with the possibilities...
Halo 2 was a rushed joke, I expect maybe two halos on 360 if even. EA might be shit, but they can get their titles out on time.
Halo 3 is not done... end of discussion... And who's to say bungie can't get a revo style controller for the 360?
About EA, I'm looking foward to Black. it looks pretty good to ba PS2 title. Lets hope it lives to the hype... Cuz that would need a great amount of engineering and other expenses, too much for just one game if you ask me. It would be way easier to make a Xbox controller+trackball like the Pippin or that keyboard/pad the Grip.
Black isn't so good on the PS2, best to stick with the xbox on that one. A keboard for an xbox will never happen, there are internal rules against it (yes i know you can use it in certain menus and Final Fantasy XI). If the revo controller does well and turns out to be a functional device, you can bet the farm that both sony and microsoft will have their own versions. That's what nintendo has been afraid of this whole time. Besides, microsoft would do almost anything to keep bungie happy. If they think that a remote/controller combo will sell an extra million units, consider it done.
I meant for PS2 FPS standarts... About the revo pad, well nintendo is copying apple's industrial design right now:lol: But the point is that until revo picks up and both MS and sony see a bussiness oportunity that could be somewhere between 2 and 3 years from now...
well bungie isn't really to fault for that. The vids and teasers from the various events show it was obviously going in a different direction than what we got. I'm not an insider, but MS telling them to cut up the game and rush out a shitty split character story so they can save the good stuff for halo 3 isn't to hard to imagine. It was solid on multiplayer and I never really cared enough to dig deep into the conspiracies of the big evil M$ and why the single player mode blew ass.
Its nothing new: Sonic3 and S&K was meant to be a big ass game, but SEGA rushed it and then sold the other part as another game. You know, its funny, S&K may be the only expansion pack in the history of consoles.
I dont know, sonic3 had the removed levels right there in code (but no graphics) and you could see them in level select...
The interview never happened, it's a completely false story. Jones never had an interview with EGM, and Bungie is denying any comment was ever made to that effect.
