    Aye aye, cap'n!

On the serious note, it can be broken trace, spilled conductive liquid or bad solder joint. Extremely hard to find, just like when i tried to repair Hi-MD recorder which can be turned on in about 5 out of 100 attempts, ended with resoldering half of the components with leaded solder and now it works but randomly freezes in about every 10 minutes, i guess i'll have to resolder everything and replace all capacitors.

And it can be even worse - burned out components. But it rarely happens, only when user experiments with external power source. I think that wiimote just hit the wall, which happens very often. Reflowing everything is a good idea, but if there's a crack on pcb it won't help, you'll have to find it.
