I don't know a lot about blues, but I can share some of the local flavor with you:

I know it's more pop-blues, but Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears are great.

I know a lot of blues musicians, and photographed a whole bunch of Gary Moore's guitars recently before they were auctioned off. I was extremely tempted by one of his amps!

Check out Kirk Fletcher. He's ridiculously good. And, of course, you can't beat the classics - Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Otis Rush, Big Joe Turner, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Peter Green... so many.
