Well im starting this topic as on a newsgroup i found 3 epispodes of a show that i haven't seen in years (when it came out and was part of comedy centrals regular lineup) which is Dr. Katz. I was so excited to find even three episodes as this show has been off the air for bout 6-7 years here in the U.S. It was one of my all time favorites when it came out, it had many stand up comedians that weren't even that well know at the time (dave chapelle, dave atelle, ray romano, don mererra, etc). It was sad when comedy central canceled it and it was never shown again, so i was shocked to even see it on a newsgroup. Undergrads is another show i thought that had lots of potential (except that damn lame a** opening theme, no offense to those who like that band, i just don't have a taste for them myself), any way does anyone else have shows they liked that got canceled too early or never had their moment to shine?
Farscape, one of the best sci-fi shows ever , and what did scifi channel do, well hey lets make season 4 and let it end with a giant cliffhanger but cancel the show so we leave all the fans with an uncomplete unfinished show. :smt076 :smt097 And all because they had to make another way overbudget season of Stargate SG1 :Hangman:
wasn'tt hat stopped because of Bender? They are always cutting parts out of Futurama on Shy One. Yakumo
what :smt017 I don't think it was canceled because of Bender, he was probably the most popular character.
Yeah great shame about futurama :smt011 The reason they stopped it was because they got to many restrictions on the show to do what they wanted, so they stopped making them because they couldn't make the show like they wanted it to be.
I have the box set of season 1 and 2, but not 3. In the comentary of season 1 and 2, i remember them always talking about Fox, and how they would always try to edit the show and get them to change it, but i had no idea that is why they canceled the show. In any case, the show now plays on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and they seem to be better about that kind of stuff than Fox, Adult Swim showed an episode of Family Guy that Fox refused to play. I doubt they will have new episodes though.
erm saint seiya... infact alll the japanese series back in the 80s-90s with their short season styles...
Kindred The Embraced. :smt011 :smt022 the best vampire series from my favorite roleplaying game why did they cancel it ? :smt022 :smt011
lol saint seiya never got canceled xD only season they didnt finish was hades and they are making it right now.... fucking TOEI i've been waiting for more than 1 year for the following episodes damn joo!!! :smt019
Miracles on ABC looked to have lots of promise but was dumped by the boneheads that are in charge..... :smt019
Another reason Futurama was due to FOX's poor schedualing, they had too much piled up on sunday night, and the pre empting for sports games really hurt the shows raitings as no one knew when it would be on next. Thus less people watched it and fox finaly showed what was left and canceled it. This is what happened to family guy, which also got moved around a bit. So they did much better on cartoon network do to a new audience and the fact they can give the shows the attention they deserve instead of shuffling it. I remember listening to season 4 commentary of simpsons and al jean and mike rease point out fox is notorious for doing this causeing their shows to get canceled. Mtv also did this with clone high, undergrads, and 3 south.
I liked Kindred: The embraced as well WolverineDK. I believe the reason it got canceled was because the actor who played Julian Luna was killed in a motorcycle crash. Another Fox show from that season that I really liked was Profit. It was about a psycho corporate shark. It was a really dark show. The State on MTV was also a really funny show. I wish HBO would make more episodes of Tales form the Crypt. The big one form this season though was Angel. Just when the show was starting to get it together they cancel it with a shitty cliffhanger to boot. Yeah Futurama was canceled due to poor scheduling. the last season got poor rating due to it being preempted by baseball (it was Fox's year to show the major games on Sunday). It was also one of my favs. I've got good news for some of you though. They are making new episodes of Family Guy which can't come soon enough for me. The DVD's sold so well that either Cartoon Network or Fox (not sure who) ordered a new season. I just hope they go back to world domination Stewie instead of in the closet Stewie. He was much funnier in the early episodes. You might like this Silverbolt http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=17933 "You. Fetch me my copy of the Wall Street Journal. You two, fight to the death."
sketch comedy, good stuff like the upright citizens brigade, the state and kids in the hall. mtv used to have good programming, liquid television and most of their animation of any sort
A.Snow you just made my day rayer: rayer: rayer: :smt118 Can't wait for those eps to show up on the internet and on dvd near christmas :smt040
scemes every show i like gets cancelled. family guy being the exception now were getting new episodes. the shows that come to ming are 'Space: Above and Beyond' and 'EZ Streets'. the lader being canceled after 4 episodes. fucking cbs.
Yeah to bad about space and beond, also loved the show but it was too expensive and didn;t get high enough ratings :smt011
