Only if you consider the Hubble to be phallic.

Very incredible. I used to Wiki-hop through stars and look at all the comparison images and feel my brain slowly implode.

Stuff like that makes me feel weird as my brain can't find the answers, my brain struggles trying to take in just how much is out there in space. If you went in a straight line in space would you travel forever?, whats outside of space if you kept going, does it have an end? I get around that by pretending it's like Asteroids you just loop round if you go far enough hehe.

How many of those galaxies have planets & how many have life on them in some form. For people to believe they are the only life in the universe is just retarded.

What?? Are you saying it isn't phallic???

    OHNOES!

But no, really, those images are awesome. I'm reading Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan right now, and man, the sole notion of a world created just for us is so stupid.

I believe that there aren't any universal rules, or chemical elements or anything for that matter. If humans can imagine a universal something, then that something will not be universal by definition: human brains are finite, whereas the universe is not.

We are insignificant to the universe. YES WE ARE

I agree. In fact, the numbers on things like this are getting so big that the astronomer Royal, Lord Rees, said:

“A ‘true’ fundamental theory of the universe may exist but could be just be too hard for human brains to grasp.Just as a fish may be barely aware of the medium in which it lives and swims, so the microstructure of empty space could be far too complex for unaided human brains."

    Depressing, eh?

I am 100% sure that there is as much intelligent life out there as we could imagine, in every variation, color and shape. If the universe is endless, there are also endless possibilities. I wonder what "aliens" from our galaxy would say if they landed on earth and learned about Man's history.

As GaijinPunch pointed out, we are a shit race for some reason. Slaughtering our own race, tormenting animals and other people for joy, justifying awful things with stupid beliefs. One could be ashamed of mankind in front of another race, but then I always tend to think: If they are an intelligent life form, too, didn't they experience the same development? I believe some things, like rape or murder, are inevitable among intelligent life forms.

The best out of the "endless" things is, that everything will repeat itself. And it will not just repeat in the very same way, no it also will repeat in infinite other variations, endless.
