FF Type o + FF XV Exclusive Show

    Hajime Tabata noted that the theme of Final Fantasy XV will follow a group of friends in his travels. Confessed with a smile that "Bromance" will be the theme of the game.

    After releasing the trailer for the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix decided to present a long sequence of 10 minutes revealing a part of the playing field in the future this demo FFXV. A mondinale excluded.

    In front of us, a large stone arch, vehicles on the road, a gas station, a vast plain with a lake where drink quadripedes between the elephant and giraffe head boar creatures. Yes, I know, it's a bit special.

    No doubt, the universe seems huge, so we go from plain to a rather dense forest. No clipping and a neat lighting engine. After a few minutes the four friends join a somewhat industrial area lost in the undergrowth.

    But night falls already. Birds fly away ... while an enemy in the form of hydra and small goblins beset the group. Tabata clarify that meetings will be obviously different day, or night.

    Finally, it feels like a kind of Red Dead Redemption meeting Jurassic Park much larger, and totally bucolic Next Gen. And with some chocobos glimpsed near a grove. Numerous mini-games will be available as ... fishing on the lake.
    Luminous Engine 1.4 and Active Cross Battle

    Finally, note that the combat system FFXV use 3 buttons and was baptized AXB for Active Cross Battle. The game now uses the Luminous Engine 1.4 ... and must be technically taken from the beginning of development. The demo will be available in March 2015 in Final Fantasy Type-0 will use version 1.5 ... while the final version is scheduled to run on version 2.0.

    A second novel 5-minute video showing the graphics engine of the game was then presented by reviewing: the day / night cycle, caves, modern cities, the characters with their skin texture, facial animation, modeling hair editor field, artificial intelligence ... to be clear, the graphic level proves definitely very high. Technical demo "number 2" is expected to be published soon ...

    With this presentation, without any combat, Square Enix demonstrates the power of the new engine and immersion that follows. For RPG fans who were looking forward to again walk through a giant map, get lost, take pleasure in discovering far from the famous "corridors" of the past generation ... you should be thrilled.

    Thanks for the coverage. I'm just waiting on details of the AXB system as I'm not sure how they will implement the team dynamics. Previous gameplay trailers made it look like enemy AI was weak in favour of the player coordinating duo or team attacks, which is something I'm not sure about. I'm hoping that AI will be challenging and combat will be deep and engaging, as opposed to relying solely on cinematics for entertainemnt with no challenge. Still the game looks beautiful and I can't wait to play the demo, I'm planning on picking up a PS4 and Type-0 especially for it. I like how the game is about the relationship between a group of friends not just about politics and world issues, some of the best Final Fantasy games have been character driven so I have a lot of hope that this will be another one for me to enjoy. Personally I think that the games where Square had the most freedom for creative expression were the best, FFVIII and FFXII are the two that fit that idea the most, and XV certainly seems no exception to that rule, fingers crossed.

    Very excited for this. Will be one of the main reasons I take the plunge to next gen. Let's hope it lives up to what is being said. Either way, it still looks pretty amazing. A nice leap forward into something different.
