I do have this incredibly awful game)) As I said in the first post - the photos are of random, maybe more favorite stuff, it's not the whole collection. It would took me too much time for making the photos of all the collection. But I will do it, once i finally finish it.

Speaking about 3DO - I have way of the warrior in both japanese and us longbox formats. Actually the only one fighting game I'm missing for 3DO is Eye of the typhoon...

Beautiful collection, you also own all the hardware to play these games? I am wondering if the CD32 was ever sold in Russia?

Thank you! Yes, I do have all the hardware. Actually it's much easier to obtain game systems (at least regular standard editions/models) than some particular games.

Amiga computers were popular in Russia for a rather brief period of time - they were moved from the market by more popular ZX Spectrum computers, so by the time of CD32 release nobody cared about Amiga and it was never officially sold here. Most of the systems and games that can be seen now in Russian collections come from Germany.

Amiga pushed of the market by ZX spectrum? Are you sure, because the difference in quality between those two platforms is huge (it shouldn't be a contender in my eyes). It does remind me about my first computer, a ZX81 :)

I was asking about the hardware because my own collection revolves around it, and i'm still having a hard time understanding why people are more interested in collecting software . Hardware is worthless without any good software, but i always preferred to say that good (software) results are impossible on bad hardware.

Yes, you are right about Amiga and Spectrum. But spectrum was much cheaper in Russia and after some time some Russian companies began to make clones on spectrums (I think it was much easier than to make an amiga clone). After that that spectrum clones appeared in schools as primary systems in computer science classes. So it became much more popular than amiga. Also clones of atari 2600 were really popular before famiclone era.

    Wow, very impressive collection!

Out of curiosity what's your favorite series or game that you think you're the best at?

    Thank you, graciano1337!

I really love the genre but I cant call myself really pro in some particular game. I guess I play fighting games much better than casual gamers, but not on the level of attending serious professional tournaments. But I can say that my favorite 2D game is the classic Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo in it's arcade glory. And Street Fighter Alpha 2. From the 3D world it's Tekken 3 and Soul Edge on ps1 and Soul Calibur on Dreamcast - these are the best versions of this popular franchises. Also I'm a big fan of Dead or Alive - all the games are great, but Dreamcast version is again the best one in my opinion. These are the games that I really good at. But I'm also a big fan of SNK and Samurai shodown in particular. But SNK games have much more complicated mechanics (especially KOFs), so I suck at them)))

Yeah, share the love! I really like SFZ 2 as well, but its popularity is quite low. Most people prefer 3rd Strike or MvsC2. I like SFZ2 for its simplicity though, I even prefer it to the fantastic SFZ3.

How do you like the crossovers? My favourite 2D-fighter of all time is Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. Garou MOTW for Neo Geo is my favourite of all the SNK fighters because despite being quite deep, it's still the most accessible of them in my opinion. KoF or Real Bout are too complicated and 'stiff' for my taste.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is also my all time favorite. LOVE that game. I didn't play Street Fighter Alpha 2 much but for some reason I was obsessed with Alpha 3 in college.

    Again, super awesome collection!

Really nice collection. I come into these threads with low expectactions--was pleasantly surprised.

You sound like the sort of person I would enjoy playing fighting games with---one who doesn't claim to be an expert in any. The fun gets sucked out of them (for me anyway) when somebody knows the game so well they break it.

That's a very impressive collection of fighting games and more! I too collect fighting games, but not with the same passion or goal.

May I ask why you haven't started collecting fighting games for portable systems?
And what about slightly different versions of games, like Toshinden 2 and Toshinden 2 Plus, do you aim to get them both? I trust that you don't buy doubles by getting greatest hits releases as well?

    Anyway, good stuff

You are right RedKnight, I do not collect greatest hits and other re-releases of the same game. But I do have toshinden and toshinden2+ as well as street fighter alpha 2 dash.

And speaking about portable games - I just dont collect them because I dont feel like it. I believe in oldschool - that gaming system is something that you hook up to your tv. So I just dont like portable stuff. But I'm collecting some game boy and gba games - because you can play them on snes or gamecube through adaptors)
