Was any information given as to why Honey was renamed Candy for PAL? This has always had me so curious as to why...
a weird one, maybe it just sounded better in other languages as pal is not just english speaking territories, or maybe they thought us in pal land didn’t like honey? honey sounds a bit better IMO but who knows, could have been to make it sound more American to appeal to the western audience.
It's a good question. I think she was called Candy in the US version as well, wasn't she? I've only ever played the Japanese version, so I'm not sure.
It was written in the UK Official Sega mag years ago that the name change was to appeal to the American audience and as always the rest of the English speaking world was stuck with it too. You see, Japanese seem to think that all English speaking people are the same when it comes to tastes and culture. Yeah, right.
Hmmm, then they should of named her Lolly in PAL Thanks for clearing that up mate. @GoH - Pepsiman is awesome, better than any mascot Coke ever had XD
I wouldn't say it's shitter. Pepsi doesn't leave a furry feeling for me, everyone is different I suppose
i like drinks that dont strip my teeth of enamel and leave them feeling all weird lol Pepsi throwback does indeed rock.
When life gives me Pepsi, I choose Dr. Pepper. Back on topic, Honey is easily my favorite character in Fighting Vipers, and probably one of my favorite videogame characters in general. I have a little gashapon figurine of her that I bought from Yakumo a few years ago. Fighting Vipers 2 for Dreamcast is a pretty good game too. It's actually a pretty accurate conversion of the arcade game, unlike most Model 3 ports on the Dreamcast.
Ah, I noticed you showed the clothed version Did you buy the hardly dressed version from me as well or is that the same model? I forget now.
Yeah, I have that one too. I think she's sitting in a box in my closet. I think she's missing some parts, though. This one (the one I showed in the picture) can have her skirt removed as well, if you're feeling like a pervert. This one is pretty much how she looked in the first game. In FV2 they changed her clothes to blue for some reason. I was a little disappointed about that when I first played the game, but she looks pretty much the same other than that - and obviously much more detailed than the Saturn version.
Apparently there's actual dolls of Honey/Candy as well. I've wanted a Honey/Candy figure though She's my favourite character in FV as well, I'm sure many have had Honey vs Honey with only the ass attack
