I wonder why they are selling all the IP rights in one lot. Wouldnt it make sense to either sell each game seperatly or to break it up somehow (e.g. all the sports games for sale to a sports publisher and so on) I doubt anyone other than the "top 5" publishers/companies could afford all this (although thats probobly what they want, they probobly dont want anyone without the big resources to actually support these games making any kind of purchases)
They are lumping them together because they are clueless. They auction cars for a living. What did you expect? lol
Is it even going to sell?? It depends on their opening bid I suppose. I doubt the huge companies are going to waste the resources to buy rights to 100+ worthless games to gain the rights to 1 or 2 they might actually be able to use.
They only lumped it together because some of those properties would never sell for the ridiculous minimum that they originally put on them (several thousand dollars if I recall correctly).
I feel so sorry for the U.K division of Acclaim, the U.K guys worked so hard. They basically 'kept' the U.S department afloat for many years. The U.S dept acted like a fat over bloated corporate leech, such a shame it all fell down in the end, and everyone lost out
Not sure. The proxibid site isn't showing any bids were made. Then again, as I was corrected earlier: ray:
Sucks. It woud actualy have been nice to aquire the license to Vexx (unless that sold already). Could still actualy do something with that series.
Vexx, and everything's been sold that was included in that auction. No one will know who was the winner until it closes in a couple of weeks.
hopefuly who ever bought it tries to resell parts. I am not sure why but I would love to have the rights to vexx (yet would have to sell my organs or something to come up with the cash).
I'm interested in seeing what happens to these titles: Darius Gaiden Fur Fighters Wetrix I saw some of the Double Dragon games were listed, but I assume that was just some specific titles Acclaim had a temporary license for as it was my understanding that Million Corp now owns the rights to Double Dragon. I hope whoever has the rights will sell or license Double Dragon to Microsoft Game Studios so we can have an updated Battletoads/Double Dragon game... I might be the only one that actually liked that game, but that wouldn't be the first time. Didn't really care for the other Double Dragon games.
Iron sword and the whole Wizards and Warriors (hey let's not forget Fabio ) stuff would be great for a next gen title. Has been a while since I last layed eyes on an epic platformer like Ironsword .. nostalgia
