Hi, As I went through of my old game boxes. I've noticed there's strange screenshots of the game. The character named B and Tea (Phoebe's sprite with Morning star equipped). Have anyone seen it before? Here's the screen http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/192/106336167500oi3.jpg There's one screen shot of the area that does not exist in the game. Like the bottom left picture of the screen inside of the pyramid. I'll post up the screen shots of the differences.
Damn I had that box just under my eyes like two hours ago! Now you'll have to wait two weeks for me to check it again xD!
According to the manual, you can make up your own name - and as far as I remember you could name the characters you meet to (a bit like the rest of the Final Fantasy series), so maybe they aren't 'missing screenshots'. The screenshots are the same on the back of the PAL 'Mystic Quest Legend' too, in case anyone is interested.
From what i remember, you can't change the names, yeah. Maybe the feature was there in beta versions though. Or it could just be a mockup, like those pics behind the smb3 box, or those ff4 for nes and ff7 for snes pics.
Okay folks.. since the B and Tea screenshots interest me so much and then decide to see what changed in the Beta and Final version. http://xs217.xs.to/xs217/07275/demo1.png There's three different column which are Beta (The back of the box), conceptual art (made by me) and Final version. Column one: 1) I have no idea if you fight those guys in one of the stone tablet battle field. Font looks different, notice the lake is missing and just grassy land. 2) Hero and Phoebe are in different position in battle 3) Don't have the screen because I never fought them in that battle order. Column II: 1) B and Tea are in level 41, the overworld haven't been beaten (before Ice Pyramid), battlefield been never beaten, B have Excalibur (you get it later in the game, need to beat Ice Pyramid to progress the game) 3) I've beaten the Ice Pyramid and then the land became restored, Phoebe is in level 34. Column III: 1) Different layout, weird pathaway thingy on the ground. 2) I couldn't find the sprite while using Tlayer, the one with eye and rock floating. 3) Different layout Column IV: 1) Different layout (mushroom missing upper left and bark is added on lower right nest to 2F), Tea (Phoebe) is the partner. 2) clearer shot. 3) Different layout, Kaeli joins you this part and not Phoebe.
