    Hell no it isn't. If I recall they originally sold for around $500-600. On ebay I've seen prices before at around $2000-3000 and I don't believe any sold at that price but I wasn't exactly paying any real attention to them.

    Another case of someone hearing that an item is rare and thinking it therefore must be worth a fortune.

    I'm sure music boxes aren't easy to make, but man, I wish there was someone mass producing videogame theme boxes

    There's a music box store not far from where I live. They produce J-Pop, western pop and of course the classics in Music box form. They also have a few and I do mean a few game music boxes. Last time I visited the store they had the main Final Fantsy theme, Dragon Quest theme (I can't stand that), bloody Mario :( and some other Nintendo stuff that just sounds crap on a music box. The Final Fantasy one did sound beautiful from what I remember. Prices ranged from 2500 to 15'000 yen.
