Now I know the Japanese version was branded 'Squaresoft'.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but were the early prints of the NTSC X-2 on Squaresoft?

I remember about 6 months ago there was a factory sealed X-2 on eBay, it sold for shitloads because it had 'Squaresoft', branding - as opposed to 'Square-Enix'

    Am I right?

I dont know, but this sounds terribly familiar. I think you are correct, but if what A. Snow is saying is true, then who knows?

somewhat related, i have 2 copies of Breath of Fire for SNES, one has the Capcom logo, the other has the Squaresoft logo, so their being two different variations of X-2 wouldnt surprise me.

Uuum... I don't really know about that. Well, I'd bet the japanese version was released earlier than when square bought enix(ot vice versa, don't remember).... And they released the game in U.S and europe regions after.

It's either X or X-2, and one of them has a different branding on it. I wish I could find where I saw it. :(

Well I know that later Greatest Hits copies of Final Fantasy VIII, IX, and X were branded with the Square-Enix logo.

You're probably thinking of a newer copy of X?

It may have been, but it was definitely an original release, not Greatest Hits.etc
