So anyone who ever play Final fantasy XI? Do you still currently play? Who looking forward to Final Fantasy XIV?

As a well active player of final fantasy xi i am rather looking forward to final fantasy xiv. I do hope they improve on final fantasy xi and make it easier to do things.

Played Final fantasy XI quite a bit years ago but not anymore it was back when I got a deal for a free subscription. I may get the new one on PS3 but I will have to see how the Beta is first and if it sucks me in.

Online games that require a second life are not even a remote possibility for me, unfortunately. PSO was the last one I really got into.

I played XI for a while, XIV looks really good. But It's just hard finding the time to be so committed to an online game. You can't play them for small periods and expect not to instantly fall behind.

At least they are making it so you can solo now. FFXI is/was impossible to play without friends or finding parties

Drop in and out of XI every now and then. Currently playing on the 360 whenever I activate my account.

Kinda looking forward to FFXIV, but didn't really have a computer upgrade on my list of things I'd want to spend money on these days, so hopefully MS will get their fingers out of their asses and stop being so anal about the whole LIVE deal and MMOs on the 360 so I can just pop in a 360 version one day and keep on rockin'

I played a month and a half worth of WoW. It was alright. I just didn't want to spend that much time in a virtual world. Got my Hunter to level 12(i think) and my pet the same level(a wolf maybe?)

    You and me both.

    It's justified though.

For many years, a decade, we dreamed about an MMORPG on a console - to see it hit the stores was like living in the future.

It was sweet while it lasted but I m not going down that route twice.

For the most part i agree actually, WoW pisses me off to no end. But i have a bunch of IRL friends that play it, and im actually quite good at it ( although to be fair its a mind numbingly easy game, even the hardest end game raid bosses are cake IMO). I used to always talk shit about it, and then them assholes got me playing. Im a sucker for RPG's of any kind so i got hooked. It happens .

Well im a sucker for rpgs as well. I just standards when it comes to mmorpgs tho. I refuse to pay a monthly fee for a mmorpg that is basicly 80% soloable what the point. Is it not the point of a mmorpg to get involved and active with people yet you are soloing? I can solo any time i want in an offline so why do i need it in a online game?

I use to play XI years ago on the PS2, hell a few guys from work got into it (we where a group of 4-6). It was great fun but my biggest problem with the game is you hit a ceiling really quickly (around lvl 10) and from then on you HAVE to be in a party just to get anything done and if you could not commit to more then 2+ hours any time you played you would accomplish nothing at all. =(

So really blame my getting out of XI on me getting a gf at the time (who is now my wife, hehe). I just could not dedicate over an hour to a game at a single point anymore.

Very true, you can solo your character all the way to the level cap if you want, however all of the end game raiding content requires 10-25 people. Honestly the raids are the only entertaining part of the game for me, something fun about 25 people destroying a boss with an insanely high hp count.

    Hell Yeah!

I'm actually on the fence at the moment. I've got a pretty big backlog of ps2/psp games to play and i'm thinking to cut off all spending on console/handheld games for the rest of the year and instead just put my money into saving up some $$ to buy some arcade boards again. Yeah sure my cabinet is at work but i'd love to throw in something different to play (atm it has demolished fist and i'm through with playing it). I'm bordering on trying to get back into naomi again (use to have a big collection but sold them) or get a system 246 and a few gundam games.

The only thing really holding me back is 3ds is due out end this year/next year and around xmas time my wife gives me a break and lets me have $200-$300 to blow on what ever I want.
