Off hand, I was wondering if anybody has a list of what was exactly changed between the Mega CD and Sega CD versions of Final Fight? I know that Poison and Roxy's shorts were lengthened and their shirts dont stretch up to reveal a "bit-o'-boob"when they get punched. In the import, does the guy who's car gets smashed in the bonus round actually say "oh my god"? Do Damnd and Sodom keep their names? I'm assuming the opening and ending cinemas are spoken in Japanese correct? Other than those, were there any other changes?
From what i played, when it shows each persons profile, it has a fancy brick design behind it wiht a japanese voice over reading the bio thats being displayed, and yes those things were left in tact from its orignal arcade release, i think theyre were some other slight difference, when i get a chance ill pop the japanes one in and let you know more. And yes they do use the orignal japanese arcade opening with japanes voices.
The Japanese one has all the original names, Japanese speech intro, bloody when you puch guys and so on just like the arcade. Yakumo
There's a rather nice page on Classic Gaming covering the whole FF series, including the differences between AC, SFami/GBA and Mega/Sega CD versions of the original.
Thanks for the link. that site is ok but it's based far too much on the shitty US versions of the game. In one part it mentions that Psion is missing from the SNES version which is true but doesn't mention that she's in the Super Famicom version. Still, it's a nice enough read even if it is a little miss informing. Yakumo
so which version is the best one to got with i was planning on the jamma arcade one but cant decide really =(
or if you want, wait for capcom to release capcom classics in europe and just play that when it comes out over there. But as yakumo noted yes there is blood, its especialy apparent when you get shot by edie or belger at the end of the game.
nah ill need a supergun + joysticks anyway for the m2 arcade game and since iam looking for another jamma game also (streetfighter the movie) i guess ill take them all as jamma version
Overall I'd say the Arcade is best but it's audio is bloody awful, far worse than the SNES version which is also pretty dire. The best home version has got to be the Japanese Mega CD version. talking about Final Fight, do any of you guys remember this cool CD Single that came with the Japanese version of Final Fight guy?
