http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=45694&page=1&pp=50 I hope these guys are not talking out of their ass... and I predict I'm about the only guy here hoping for a PS2 port
Sonic the Fighters. Excellent, Sega finally got round to releasing a console version. Still want the Saturn version though.
It would be nice if it were for psp (recently gamestop, i think, posted a new listing for sonic psp).
Don't need to hope... ports from old consoles don't make sense as system exclusives. Edit: I don't see talk of Knuckles Chaotix. I kind of like that game.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :-D You can't enjoy Sonic the Fighters on a PSP screen !! You need the big screen for that. Not to mention Sonic CD is far too fast for a small screen. talking of Sonic CD, I videoed that for Retro Core 8 today with some pretty odd results. The water stage is missing half a wave due to the video only being 29.979fps and when Sonic goes fast the video looks a bit like a it's dropping frames That's one hell of a fast game. Yakumo
Which sonic? The game runs at 60fps (as do almost all 2d games). Sonic team also commonly does interlace tricks (flip a spite off then on the next frame) on some items. Chemical zone from sonic 2 uses this trick for the waves above the water. If you pause the game while running you will notice the sprites become solid (insted of semi transparent) and that there is a wave mising every other frame). Errors like this commonly show up in recorded video of 2d systems (since video is recorded at 29.9 insted of 59.9 that NTSC tv display at).
yieha! i was near to buy sonic mega collection, but there was something missing. now i'll wait for this one!
For those that cant get the link to work, all they say (in the first post, sense no one has realy added anything worthwile to it) is: According to the new issue of Play, the one with Death Jr. on the cover. It's in their tidbits section. It will have: - Sonic CD - Sonic the Fighters - and more
You guys realize that Sonic CD and any other 2D sonic will look like a gigantic turd? Double-scaled sprites is no good... the GC can't output them properly... same w/ Xbox. The PS2 can, but something tells me Sega won't really give two shits and will release it in fake high-res only. I'll stick w/ the originals.
You have a point there Gaijin Punch. I really can't see Sonic CD being any good as a port. There's just something about it that won't translate to another system. How was the PC version of Sonic CD? Yakumo
I have the PC version of sonic cd..it's much better then the segacd version the intro was fully redone in descent colouring and speed. Ingame it didn't look any different from the megacd though. But i this new pack is ocmming out i'll sure get it.
