So basically I still have the file for my original xbox 360 account but back around 2012 2013 i broke my xbox for a while and forgot the email and password to my dearly beloved profile. I am wanting to know if it is possible to decrypt my profile i have saved and get the email? i can probably figure out the password if i knew the email. or could i take data out of the profile, inject it into another profile and access the downloaded items, something on that account of mine i am dying to get back. Thanks.
I know the gamer tag, Harry Zit, I forgot the email back in 12 or 13, I have the profile on my desktop, but when i put on usb and try to go online with it, i have to put in the email and password for the profile, which i have forgotten, i am just trying to access the download history to get something that isnt normally available
I doubt it would be this simple, but have you tried opening the file with a hex editor? Maybe it's in there.
I looked on the Xbox Live website, and apparently it isn't possible to find the account with just the gamertag. You have to at least have the email address, which you said you don't have. Probably your best option is to somehow figure out the email address through another method. Otherwise, you could try what Mord.Fustang suggested. When you tried to load the profile on your 360, did you try to access it from the USB drive, or did you copy it to your HDD first? Just a guess, but maybe it has to be on your HDD or internal memory. You might also want to try what this suggests: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/microsoft-account/forgot-microsoft-account-solution
I'm unsure of any method of doing this as I have very little experience with LIVE accounts. Sorry I'm no help there, though I had a thought about the above statement. I am assuming these are video files and not games? To my knowledge 99%+ of delisted XBLA games can be redownloaded by the owning acct. My concern here is the possibility that some of the video files and other things M$ has offered over the years may no longer be available for download period, regardless if you have it in your history. I would think a major factor here would be if the content had cost, or were free items. I would think if they were paid items M$ would have to honor that and keep them delisted but available. On the other hand if they were free or promotional and are now delisted, M$ may not even have these available for download. This was just a thought. Of course, no way of knowing if it is available without accessing the account, or finding someone who has an active acct with the item(s) in history. best of luck getting your account going again! begal EDIT: Additional thought, do you still have the same console? I would assume loading the acct on a different console would prompt for credentials, but would the original console it was used on prompt for them? I don't know if this would be triggered by the console ID difference or just the fact the acct has not been used in so long.... if you still had the old console I would attempt fixing it or have a pro fix it if needed just so I could try the acct on it. Again just another thought....lol
Call Microsoft. I had similar similar with my missus' account. They went through a number of things we could provide to prove ownership. In the end, a serial number of a console we had logged into was enough to get rhe info
