Anyone got some tips on that? I have lots of debug/preview/review/test/beta discs at the moment for Xbox 360, but I don't seem to be able to find proper key combination to get into the debug menu itself (if it even exists). Do you have some tips how could I maybe look into .xex file for the way into it?
Ha ha ha. Always check button combos at the start menu. I got a beta of Assassins Creed a while back and it took me forever to finally figure out I had to press start at the main menu to access the debug menu.
Thanks lads. I have tried mashing all the buttons at the main menus, but couldn't get into anything. So far I only managed to get some success with keyboard plugged into the Xbox 360 and using either straight-up console (Medal of Honor Airborne and Condemned 2) [and I know MOH:A has debug menu, but I can't get into it] or F1-F12 buttons on keyboard (Condemned 2). Anybody knows the combinations with Capcom games? I got few Lost Planet 2 and 3 copies that I would want to try out.
Usually shoulder and triggers are used here. Try any combination you can with those (start 2 then 3 then all 4). Also to add, make sure you check the MAIN MENU because that could lead to fun stuff too. I have a Lost Planet 3 build that only shows build number in orange and how it shows up is a shoulder-trigger combination + Select.
Just tried the triggers and shoulders, and during pause menu in-game, if you hold down RT, you get Map List - https://www.dropbox.com/s/0tjmp4z74vnr0z4/Zrzut ekranu 2016-04-03 20.14.34.png?dl=0
Hold down left D-PAD in game for ~1 sec. https://www.dropbox.com/s/knfgtxvf9osywb1/Zrzut ekranu 2016-04-03 20.28.04.png?dl=0
These two are all I could find in my build. Anyone had some luck with EA games then? I can't get into the debug menu in any of EA things I have (MOHA, Godfather, BF2:MC).
It's possible that no debug menus are available so there's always that. Not all builds are equipped with such things. You can try a second controller I suppose, though that seems to be a thing that has been dropped lately.
First thing you can do is bruteforce, indeed it is very boring but effective. Bruteforce with several steps and different deepness of combinations. It may sound stupid and unnecessary, but it works. 1 step - one button/twice/holding Try to press all the buttons on the x360 controller as single button: d-pad up,right, down, left, back, start, Y, B, A, X, LS, LB, LT, RS, RB, RT. Then try to press all buttons twise for each. Then try to hold all buttons for 3-8 seconds for each. Connect the second controller and try again. Connect generic USB keyboard/x360 keyboard and try again. Try it in title screen, in main menu, in options menu, in-game, in inventory and anywhere else. If not yielded results, proceed to step 2. 2 step - simple button combination x360 controller has 16 main buttons, two other buttons (xbox button and synchronisation) and two analog sticks. What we need is try to activate all potentially existing combinations with two buttons. Every button must be combined with 15 other buttons. It's not so much as you may think. Lets start with d-pad, here is first 15 potentional combinations: Spoiler dpad-up + dpad-right dpad-up + dpad-down (it's not possible but still worth to try to quickly press up and down) dpad-up + dpad-left dpad-up + back dpad-up + start dpad-up + Y dpad-up + B dpad-up + A dpad-up + X dpad-up + LS dpad-up + LB dpad-up + LT dpad-up + RS dpad-up + RB dpad-up + RT same with dpad-right same with dpad-down same with dpad-left etc etc etc To speedup the process you can do reverse combinations in same time. For example: dpad-up + dpad-right dpad-right + dpad-up dpad-up + dpad-down dpad-down + dpad-up dpad-up + dpad-left dpad-left + dpad-up dpad-up + back back + dpad-up dpad-up + start start + dpad-up dpad-up + Y Y + dpad-up dpad-up + B B + dpad-up dpad-up + A A + dpad-up dpad-up + X X + dpad-up dpad-up + LS LS + dpad-up dpad-up + LB LB + dpad-up dpad-up + LT LT + dpad-up dpad-up + RS RS + dpad-up dpad-up + RB RB + dpad-up dpad-up + RT RT + dpad-up same with dpad-right but excluding reverse combinations, that was done earlier etc sub-step: try again on second controller sub-step: press all the possible combinations twice for each or pressing twice only one button from combinations of two optional sub-step: try to combine analog stick movements with every single button together 3 step - a pair of buttons with single button The process becomes more complicated. Method still the same, but now we will mix a pair of buttons with single button. Spoiler Next steps can be very various and complex, but not necessary if earlier steps already yielded needed results. Example of insane combination from another game:
